Why stay at Waternook?

Waternook is set within a 27 acre estate and has over quarter of a mile of Ullswater lake frontage. Nestled at the foot of Hallin Fell parts of Waternook itself date back to the early seventeenth century and rumour has it the Wedgewood family and an old Naval Captain – Sir Alexander Arthur Walker who’s grave stone can be seen at St. Peter’s Church on Hallin Fell, once resided at Waternook in Howtown.

For the avid botanist Waternook’s meadows are home to several very rare flowers and plants and are protected ESA’s (Environmentally Sensitive Areas) under Defra.

Whatever your passion Ullswater (and we hope, Waternook!) has much to offer.

Angling on Ullswater

Calling all anglers and kayak anglers on Ullswater

Stop by the Manchester Angler’s Facebook page for a recent report on fishing in Ullswater just off Waternook Lakeside Accommodation’s shoreline! These local trout taste amazing, especially when oven baked in foil with butter, garlic and a sprinkling of sea salt, as recommended by the Manchester Angler himself!
