Drawing Room & Reading Room

There is a choice of sumptuously furnished lounge areas to spread out and relax in.

The drawing room exudes style, comfort and warmth. Cozy-up around the wood burning stove; or sink into the sofas to read quietly or gaze out of the windows and take in Ullswater's wildlife. The Ullswater valley is home to a rich biodiversity of animals including some of the Britain's rarest species. From Waternook's windows it is sometimes possible to see England's last surviving Red Deer herd [you can even sometimes hear them rut]. Other species include the Peregrine Falcon, Cormorant [always sat at the end of our jetty], Osprey, Red Squirrel, rare butterflies and much more - so don't forget your camera and binoculars

Waternook also offers amazing mezzanine spaces which are light and airy and have soft seating where you can kick back and watch the Herdwick sheep grazing on the fell-side. Herdwick sheep are commonly known as the guardians of the fells.
